To the crib in Bethlehem's stall
And see what on this holy night
The Father in heaven has given us for delight


Oh, see in the crib, in the mighty stall
See here by the light's bright shining beam
In clean swaddling clothes, the heavenly child
Much more beautiful and gentle than angels are

There lies the little child, on hay and on straw
Mary and Joseph look at it with joy
The honest shepherds pray before it
