Looking inside, my soul

Memories rise, they haunt me

A strange scene, plays out before my eyes
Raindrops, fight beneath the skies
Is what I see real or just the mirror in my mind
This truth might be phony not the pain inside


Consumed by my thoughts I was when suddenly
Lightning struck and shook me in my fever dream
In this blinding light an image caught my eye
As I stared into the face of my lover who died

After a while I turned my eyes away
Something about that face wouldn't let my eyes stay
The years that went by come rushing back to me
While the rain hit my face and poured down my eyes in streams

As my will broke away, I looked up to pray
I′d never hurt my love then why won't this go away
A sliver of light fell into the room
I looked back inside at a face I had known

Something was wrong, it couldn't possibly be
The dead lain inside, was actually me
