Well it takes a lot more when you′re not quite there
It's too hard to keep up so you don′t seem to care
Your parents say one thing but you do the other
You just can't seem to keep your act together Sometimes you feel like you're at the bottom of the food chain
Getting eaten alive you can hardly take the pain
I know it′s hard to set the pace
That′s why you end up losing the race


Confusion set in for you a long time ago
Yeah you got stuck in the mud and mud's all you got to show
You′re getting trampled underfoot by everyone
All you see is dark won't look into the sun
So many choices to make but you′re always choosing wrong
You've got to live with them now but it won′t matter when you're gone
I know it's hard to set the pace
That′s why you end up losing the race
