On the streets of the night
In the pale moonlight
The birds have all flown
Mother has called her children home

There′s a girl with a song
Who's life has gone wrong
She wanders alone
In the laneways til dawn

Though years have passed
The night winds cast
Strange memories
Vague feelings in flight

Dream fires raging deep in the night


With the first light of day
It all fades away
Empty and cold
She tries to distinguish what′s real

Is it dreams in the night
Or the passionless light
Alone in between
The night, the strange light reveals

So lost in life
Haunted, in fear of the light
So lost in life
In hiding, invisible insight
So lost in life
Found out in the fires of the night
