If there′s one thing I'll strive for
It′s the strength of resilience
I'm finally escaping this forest of daggers
But I'm not leaving without scars
I′m stuck in the middle
I′m caught in between
I'm not saying I had it bad
But it just kills me
That its taken me this long
The desire to truly live
In the time I′ve been granted
I've been so distracted
And now I′m lost
I can't find my way
Forcing shapes into spaces
The pieces don′t fit
This is not where I'm meant to stay So I've planted my feet
And I′m homeward bound
I know I′ll get there someday
I just don't know how
I′m trying to climb a mountain
But I'm surrounded by the plains
I′m trying to swim an ocean
But I'm only finding grains of salt

And tell me this is as good as it gets
