Desert Land Songtext

Desert Land Songtext

We′re all just pillars
Unanchored standing in loose sand
Grounding castles for our mothers
In the brittle dessert land

Made by the sun that melts the sand
We're idle pillars transparent
Until the winds of filth and dirt
Stain the glass with violent bursts

Not long ago we stood with pride
Like a lighthouse in the night
Guiding souls through desert lands
Like a mother holding hands

Every day the sun would set
And the sky would fill with stars
Bringing the cold from distant seas
On a gentle summer breeze

Then one day the wind had changed
From a whisper to a roar
It brought back a million tears
We′d forgotten all those years

Now we are broken we are torn
While the winds become the storm
Tares the ground from which we rose
Until we crumble, decompose

No more guiding the lost souls
Wandering idle through the world
We fade back to what we've known
Once we're kings but now unthroned

We′re nothing more than grains of sand
Fallen back on desert land
All we were in disarray
Until the wind takes us away

Carries us on subtle sighs
Whispering secrets in the night
All the voices sound entwined
Singing hymns for the divine
