About two miles from the old graveyard
I remember it still
A place looking over the reservoire
That we called Sawdust Hill
We shared our jokes and cigarettes
That we had time to burn
And every now and then when I'm down that road
I make a turn


We'd go there every Saturday night
Tossing up things in the Texas sky
We would fight and we would laugh
But you had a curfew still
And ain't it finally when you're young at heart
You never really know just where you are
But then again you never could see that far

The next thing that I knew
I spread my heart just a little too thin

That summer I can't forget
The way she made me feel
