Her Hearing isn't what it used to be Songtext

So good to see you
I bought you some photos
So sorry, yeah I know it′s been a while
Work has been crazy
Up and down and up and down and up and down
And all the kids say hi

You know the woman who's in charge here says you′re lovely
The nurse who brings you lunch says it's so sad
And the man who cleans you up says you're sometimes racist
And that′s all very well but I can see
Your hearing isn′t what it used to be

It's where you belong now
They say it won′t be long now
It's so hard for them to say
To look me in the eye and take me down the list of all the pieces of you that they say have finally come away

And the girl who cuts your hair says that you′re beautiful
And the man who cleans the toilet says you're rude
And the manager says she needs to know how much your old house is worth
I understand but can′t they see
Her hearing isn't what it used to be

It's just another accident
Don′t worry about the little accidents
We all have little accidents

No need for words now
It′s okay that you flinch when I touch
I'd probably be the same
Our circles of conversation getting tighter
It′s alright
I know you never liked to think about too many things at once

And the nurse who cleans your clothes says you're hilarious
And man who counts the tablets says that there′s life in your eyes yet
And the manager says, can I talk to you in private?
Sure, i need to mention, can't you see
Her hearing isn′t what it used to be
Her hearing isn't what it used to be
