The Old Black Crow Songtext

Noah took the boat out for a spin
′Cause God wanted to cleanse the world out of sin
He said, "Take two of every animal you know"
And the story goes that after months afloat
Noah sent a special bird outside to look around for land
The bird brought back an olive branch, dropped it in his hand
They thought it would sound prettier, to see it wasn't so

But everybody knows it was an old black crow (caw! Caw!)
Everybody knows it was an old black crow

Early in the morning, just before the show
Before the sun comes tearing up and showing off its gold
When half the world is sleeping, before any even talk
Who wakes up the cockerel, the old black crow?

No one will give credit to an old black crow (caw! Caw!)
No one will admit it was an old black crow

All around the country, they all have flapping fun
A bird sometimes will rest his wings and sit in the sun
He likes to put his feet down flat on an even piece of ground
Of course, a bird loves company and other birds around
He gathers with the flock to congregate in fields
Feasting on the corn and wheat and all that field yields
Does the farmer see the squirrels?
No, no, no he shoots the biggest thing he sees

The old black crow (caw! Caw!)

Everybody loves to shoot the old black crow (caw! Caw!)
Everybody loves to shoot the old black crow (caw! Caw!)
Everybody wants to shoot the old black crow (caw! Caw!)
Everybody wants to shoot the old black crow
